Heritage Holidays is owned and run by Julie Darby, yes, she is actually related to THE Darby's of Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge and the Industrial Revolution!
It all started with Heritage View Guest House, a grade II listed Victorian Mansion, once the home of Captain Webb, the first man to swim the English Channel. There are rooms at Heritage View that overlook the River Severn, where Captain Webb learned to swim.
The house boasts period features and modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests. As a result, Heritage View is consistently the highest rated guest house in Ironbridge, with guests returning year after year due to its exceptional quality.
Julie used her knowledge from Heritage View Guest House to establish Humbug Cottage in Much Wenlock. Humbug Cottage, a 16th Century Black and White Cottage, is located in the historic market town of Much Wenlock and has been recently restored.
The cottage is equipped with modern amenities for a comfortable stay. Much Wenlock is rich in history, offers sightseeing and walking opportunities and serves as an ideal base to explore Shropshire. Humbug Cottage provides a perfect accommodation option for those looking to experience the charm of Much Wenlock and the surrounding area.
Most recently, Julie has helped redecorate and refurnish Carrow Cottage in Ironbridge, a Victorian Cottage managed by Julie and Heritage Holidays. Carrow Cottage, with great reviews in its first 12 months, is a comfortable place to stay and explore Ironbridge and the surrounding area.
The Globe House is the newest addition to Heritage Holidays, a former Victorian Pub in Broseley Wood. The Globe House is located just a short walk from Ironbridge and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is a great place to stay and explore the area.
